Carbon Management Canada awards 3 CSE researchers funds for new projects

Carbon Management Canada has announced $3.75 million to fund 8 new research projects.

Congratulations are due to CSE researchers, Prof. Harry Ruda, Prof. Aimy Bazylak, and Prof. Murray Thomson.

Professor Harry Ruda receives funding for his project “Development of single-molecule level multi-species nanowire-based sensors for carbon emissions”.  As lead investigator, the project based out of the University of Toronto sees Prof. Ruda working with Kyoto Technologies and Forerunner Research.

As Co-PI, Professor Aimy Bazylak will work with Dr. Giovanni Grasselli, also of the University of Toronto, on a project to measure “Physical-chemical response to geomechanical processes during geological sequestration of scCO2”.

Professor Murray Thomson (Co-PI) is working with Dr. Greg Dipple of UBC on a project to study “accelerating carbon mineralization in mine wastes”.
